Frequently Asked Questions

UNIT OPERATION

  • It depends on how many gallons of DEF is sold daily.  The tank size is 310 gallons, so if your selling on average 30 gallons of DEF per day, you have about 10 days of supply in your tank.  We would recommend refilling your tank weekly.  Based on our experience, we believe it’s best to work with your DEF supplier and plan to schedule either twice per week, once per week, or every other week.

  • This unit is rated to operate above 12 F which is where DEF freezes

  • When the dispenser doesn’t respond to a card swipe or tab, does not dispenser fluid or if the flow rate seems very slow.

  • Yes, the unit is designed to be installed on island near a fuel pump.  The unit is UL 87C certified, which means its designed to safely operate in Class I, Division 1 hazardous locations at a fuel center.

  • No, but the unit should be installed on a relatively flat surface.

Maintenance & Support

  • DEF leaves a white residue if spilled and can crystalize.  We recommend wiping the machine down weekly for appearance, as well as, soaking the nozzle in warm water for 5-10 minutes weekly.

  • Additech services all equipment they own, otherwise, we recommend using a qualified service technician.  Additech can provide recommendations.

  • Most parts are readily available.
