Frequently Asked Questions

UNIT OPERATION

  • It depends on how many gallons of DEF is sold daily.  The tank size is 525 gallons, so if your selling on average 30 gallons of DEF per day, you have about 17 days of supply in your tank.  We would recommend refilling your tank bi-weekly.  Based on our experience, we believe it’s best to work with your DEF supplier and plan to schedule either twice per week, once per week, or every other week.

  • Yes, this pump can sell DEF in temperatures above -40F.

  • When the dispenser doesn’t respond to a card swipe or tab, does not dispenser fluid or if the flow rate seems very slow.

  • The HUDD dispenser itself is not rated for installation within pump islands—only the register is UL certified. Local authorities may allow exceptions, so we recommend checking with your fire marshal before installing.

  • If installed on grass or unpaved surfaces, a concrete pad is required for stability. If installed on an existing paved parking lot, no additional pad is needed.

Maintenance & Support

  • DEF leaves a white residue if spilled and can crystalize.  We recommend wiping the machine down weekly for appearance, as well as, soaking the nozzle in warm water for 5-10 minutes weekly.

  • Additech services all equipment they own, otherwise, we recommend using a qualified service technician.  Additech can provide recommendations.

  • Most parts are readily available.

  • Yes, the unit produces standard report showing sales and usage.
